Dr. Patel earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2018. During his training, he completed externships at Georgia Eye Partners, Chicago Cornea Consultants, and the Boston Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center, gaining exposure to complex medical and surgical eye care. He went on to complete a residency in ocular disease and primary eye care at the Boston VA Medical Center, where he developed advanced expertise in managing challenging eye conditions. Following residency, Dr. Patel practiced for five years in a large private practice with a focus on myopia management, dry eye disease, pediatric eye care, and specialty contact lenses, including scleral lenses for keratoconus and patients with high astigmatism.
Dr. Patel has a special clinical interest in ocular disease management, dry eye treatment, keratoconus, pediatric optometry, and hard-to-fit contact lenses. At Radiant Eye Care, he utilizes advanced diagnostic tools such as corneal topography, meibography, anterior segment imaging, and axial length measurements to provide accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
One of the most meaningful experiences in Dr. Patel’s career involved a patient who had been told she had keratoconus but was never informed that clear, functional vision could be possible. When she came to Radiant Eye Care, Dr. Patel took the time to explain her condition and introduce her to scleral lenses as a treatment option. After being fit with specialty lenses, she regained stable, clear vision and is now an independent, high-functioning member of the community able to work, drive, and fully participate in daily life. Moments like these reflect Dr. Patel’s commitment to education, advocacy, and patient empowerment.
Dr. Patel believes in thorough, unrushed exams, clear communication, and partnering with patients in their care. He opened Radiant Eye Care to create a calming, family-focused practice built on integrity, compassion, technology, and long-term relationships. Living in Elgin with his wife and daughter, he is proud to serve and support the local community.
Outside the office, Dr. Patel enjoys traveling, painting, photography, and volunteering at his local temple. Patients can expect attentive care, thoughtful guidance, and a doctor fully committed to helping them see clearly and live confidently.
